What is a gender scan?
This scan is performed in 2D only from 18 weeks gestation to determine the gender of your baby. Genders scans performed earlier than 18 weeks are proven to be less accurate.
How accurate is the gender scan?

What scans are provided?
The entire scan will be performed in 2D mode to initially confirm the heartbeat and position of your baby. We will then determine the gender of your baby. If your baby is lying in a awkward position we may have to pause the scan or ask you to walk around. It is very rare that we are unable to determine the gender during the scan.
Up to 4 black and white 2D thermal prints are provided.
As an added extra, if you wish to have a DVD recording or your images saved to a CD please advise prior to your scan. Please see our additions for prices.

Please note: Due to the possibility of legally terminating a pregnancy, up to 23 weeks +6 days gestation, and, the ethical position, regarding terminations being carried out for cultural or non-medical necessity. 4D Baby Images, on moral grounds, will not conduct sexing (gender) scans any earlier, than 18 weeks gestation. It should also be noted, it is more difficult to accurately establish the sex with any certainty, prior to this gestation period.
